Sue-Ann Li

Sue-Ann holds a LL.B. degree from the University of Bristol and was called to the Singapore Bar in May 2008.

Sue-Ann assists clients across various industries in supervising and managing their local and international trademark portfolios. She is also actively involved in developing and implementing effective intellectual property protection and enforcement strategies both locally and worldwide for her clients.

To this end, Sue-Ann regularly assists clients in conducting clearance searches for trademark, patents and designs, evaluating and advising on the results, implementing global intellectual property filing programs, and prosecuting and maintaining her client’s intellectual property.

Her practice also includes advising clients on corporate intellectual property matters, including drafting deeds of assignment, licence, franchising and distributorship agreements and co-existence agreements. She also has experience in the technology and telecommunications field, having assisted multi-national companies in regulatory issues, reviewing and drafting IT services agreements, software licence agreements, privacy policies and website terms and conditions.

Sue-Ann also represents clients in contentious matters and has handled cases at Registry level and in the High Court, including trade mark oppositions, invalidation, revocation and infringement actions. She started her career doing general litigation and dispute resolution and has represented clients in criminal and civil cases in the higher courts, adjudication, mediation and arbitration.

Sue-Ann enjoys engaging with business owners and is regularly involved with the Design Business Council, Franchising and Licensing Association (Singapore) and European Chamber of Commerce (Singapore) to provide their members with legal advice.
